Prima di tutto\u2026 wow!<\/p>\n

Wow perch\u00e9 sono arrivate pi\u00f9 di 70 candidature e francamente non ci aspettavamo un riscontro di queste dimensioni da parte della community: dire che siamo rimasti piacevolmente colpiti \u00e8 dire davvero poco.<\/p>\n

Selezionare 20 speaker \u00e8 stato un compito difficile e anche un po\u2019 ingrato: tagliare 2\/3 delle proposte non \u00e8 mai facile, quando poi le proposte sono interessanti e utili \u00e8 ancora pi\u00f9 difficile. Talmente tante erano\u00a0le proposte\u00a0che abbiamo deciso di portare il numero delle sessioni dalle 18 previste a 20, aggiungendo 8\u00a0sessioni di \u201clightning talks\u201d, ovvero sessioni di 12-15 minuti pi\u00f9 domande.<\/p>\n

Per selezionare gli interventi abbiamo fatto un giro di votazioni rimuovendo i nomi degli speaker e tenendo solo titoli e abstract; i punteggi cos\u00ec ottenuti sono serviti come base per aprire la discussione che ha aggiunto altri elementi: lingua dell\u2019intervento, citt\u00e0 di provenienza degli speaker, bilanciamento dei temi all\u2019interno della giornata e altri parametri che abbiamo usato per definire l\u2019agenda definitiva.<\/p>\n

Domani pubblicheremo lo schedule delle sessioni, ma ora potete andare a sbirciare i nomi dei relatori<\/a> e i titoli degli interventi<\/a>!<\/p>\n

First of all\u2026 wow!<\/p>\n

Wow because we received more than 70 applications and frankly we didn\u2019t expect so many: to say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement!<\/p>\n

Selecting 20 speakers was a difficult task, and even a bit \u201cungrateful\u201d: cutting 2\/3 of the proposals is never easy and it meant turning down applications that were interesting and useful. We received so many more than expected that we decided to bring the number of sessions from 18 to 20 by adding 8\u00a0\u201clightning talks\u201d, sessions of 12-15 minutes plus questions.<\/p>\n

To select the talks we did a first round of votes by removing the names of the speakers and taking in consideration only titles and abstracts; the scores obtained served as a basis to start a discussion that added other elements: language of the speech, city of origin of the speakers, balance of the topics and other parameters that we used to define the final agenda.<\/p>\n

We will publish the\u00a0schedule tomorrov,\u00a0in the meantime, go and take a peek at the names of the speakers<\/a> and the titles of sessions<\/a>!<\/p>\n
