We are looking for enthusiastic, organized, energetic people who love WordPress!
Why should you apply to help during WordCamp Turin 2026?
- Because it’s an amazing experience and a way to contribute to WordPress.
- Because it will allow you to meet many people and build new professional relationships or friendships.
- Because you will be an essential part of the team on the day of the event.
Why we need you
A WordCamp exists thanks to people who voluntarily choose to dedicate their time to organizing the event and then managing all the many things that make these two days a great celebration.
You can be part of this team too: all that’s required is enthusiasm, goodwill, and the desire to make your time available to the community.
Being a volunteer means experiencing the event from the inside: it means feeling part of how this wonderful machine works, reaching the end of the day exhausted but euphoric, knowing that people are enjoying the entire event also thanks to your contribution.

How You Can Help
We need people on site, hands-on, on the day of the event.
[ROLES – SHORT VERSION]
The activities include:
- Registration and welcome desk
- Distribution of WordCamp swag and gadgets
- Helping during lunch and coffee breaks
- Speaker support
- Managing the room during talks
- Helping attendees find their way around the venue
[ROLES – LONG VERSION]
But who exactly are we looking for? Usually, the roles to be covered are those described below, but it’s possible that as the event approaches, some things may change and roles may be added or removed:
Photographers: with their own equipment, they will capture the various moments of the WordCamp and, above all, its spirit, producing photographic material that can also be used for promotional purposes.
Registration: welcoming attendees, handing out badges and event swag.
Green Room: the room dedicated to staff and speakers. The role consists of supervising the room to maintain silence and restricted access.
Emcee: the person who introduces speakers and talks, and entertains during breaks by communicating service information and announcements.
Time Keeper: has the essential task of monitoring talk timing and signaling to speakers how much time remains before the end of their session.
Room Manager: works inside the conference room and manages everything related to the room and the conference proceedings within it. They check the presence of each speaker before the talk and ensure that audio and video projection are working correctly. They also verify that the room team is complete 10 minutes before the start and monitor the talk timing if no dedicated timekeeper is assigned. During the Q&A session, they bring the microphone to the audience member indicated by the MC to ask a question.
Social Media Manager: responsible for managing communication on social media during the conference. This role involves following the talks and publishing the most interesting content.
FAQ
When is my availability needed?
We will mainly need help throughout the entire day of the event, but if you’d like to help during Contributor Day as well, we’d be happy! On the conference day, we expect you from 8:00 a.m., before registration opens, until the end of the event and, if possible, even afterwards, to help tidy up. You will be able to indicate your availability in the form.
Will I be on duty the entire time?
No. Shifts will be arranged. However, remember that you will be recognizable as a staff member throughout the event, so we expect you to be available to help attendees. That’s both the honor and the responsibility of being part of such an engaging event!
Is there any compensation or reimbursement?
No. As with WordCamps around the world, there is no compensation or expense reimbursement for those involved in organizing the event. You will be responsible for covering your travel and accommodation costs in Turin. If your application is accepted, you will have free access to the event on both days, lunches included. Volunteering at WordCamp Turin is a unique way to contribute to and support the event and the WordPress community.
What should I expect?
We will let you know as soon as possible whether you will be part of our volunteer team – note: we’d love to accept everyone, but it’s not always possible! So if you don’t receive confirmation, please don’t take it personally: there will be many other opportunities to contribute to WordPress!
If your application for WordCamp Turin 2026 is accepted, you will join the volunteer team and be assigned various tasks before and during the event, taking individual preferences into account whenever possible.
We will meet on the morning of 09/05/2026, before the start of the event, to orient the staff activities. You’ll meet the entire team, we’ll go over everyone’s assigned tasks, tour the venue, and help with the initial setup.
On the day of the WordCamp, 09/05/2026 at Toolbox, we will all work together as part of a team that we hope will run like clockwork.
Hey, after the event there’s the After Party, you’re not going to leave right away, are you?

Do I Need to Buy a Ticket?
No. All staff members are entitled to free entry to WordCamp, so if you apply, do not proceed with purchasing a ticket right away!
If your application is not accepted but you still decide to attend (of course you will!), don’t worry about tickets, we’ll put more up for sale!
