Everything You Need to Know to Join Contributor Day

Still thinking about it? Hurry up, spots are limited! Remember that the Contributor Day ticket is free and can only be obtained together with the conference ticket for May 9. In short, you pay for one, and you get two!

The WordCamp Torino Contributor Day is open to anyone who wants to contribute to the WordPress open source project. Whether you’re just starting out or already experienced, whether you work in development, design, SEO, or accessibility, you’ll find your place here. It’s the perfect opportunity to get involved, collaborate, and make a real contribution to making the internet a better place.

How does the day work?

We’ll meet at Toolbox Coworking on Friday, May 8, 2026. Check-in starts at 9:00 AM, and work at the tables begins at 10:00 AM. If you arrive late, don’t worry, reception will remain open and you’ll be able to join the tables even after things have started.

After a brief introduction to the day and the teams, we’ll split into thematic tables. You can stay with one for the entire day or move freely between them. There will always be space for discussion, listening, and participation, at every level of experience.

At the end of the day, we’ll review what each table has accomplished and wrap up around 5:00 PM.

What to expect from Contributor Day

Expect to make lots of new connections. You’ll discover how the community works and realize that even the smallest contribution matters. You’ll get your hands a little “dirty,” but always in line with your interests and skills.

There are many ways to contribute that have nothing to do with coding, like helping with translations, organizing meetups, or running accessibility tests directly from your browser.

Expect to spend a day with great people, learn new methods, tools, and insights, and grow even more attached to WordPress and its community.

What to bring with you

  • A willingness to learn and help make WordPress better for everyone
  • Your laptop, required for most teams
  • Your charger
  • If you like taking notes on paper, bring a notebook and pens
  • Business cards, to stay in touch with the people you’ll meet in Turin
  • A reusable water bottle or cup: at Toolbox there are free microfiltered water stations available

Don’t worry about coffee, snacks, or lunch, we’ll take care of that!

Before May 8, we recommend that you:

  • Create a WordPress.org account;
  • Explore Make WordPress to learn more about the different ways to contribute to the global WordPress project;
  • Create an account on the Italian WordPress community Slack (there’s a guide for signing up), join, explore the channels, say hello, and ask questions if you’d like

You can find all this information and more on the Contributor Day page on our website.

Where and when

Contributor Day will take place on Friday, May 8, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Toolbox Coworking, Via Agostino da Montefeltro 2, Turin.
