Se già eravamo belli carichi e motivati per WordCamp, ora siamo a livello “Non stiamo più nella pelle, quando arriva il 01 aprile? Perché manca così tanto tempo?”

Nelle prossime settimane pubblicheremo:

• Call for sponsor – un evento come WordCamp ha bisogno di sponsor generosi che ci aiutino e condividano con noi i valori della comunità Open Source.
• Call for speaker – tutti possono candidarsi! Come abbiamo già detto nel Codice di Condotta, la community è aperta a tutti e ci impegneremo a creare un gruppo di speaker eterogeneo.
• Call for volunteers – abbiamo bisogno di voi! La lista dei compiti è lunga e variegata, tutti sono ugualmente importanti e divertenti
• Informazioni su Torino – come arrivare, dove dormire, cosa fare, cosa mangiare. Ci sarà ben un motivo se Torino è l’unica città d’Italia a essere stata inclusa nella lista del New York Times sui 50 posti da visitare nel 2016? 🙂

Intanto vi diamo qualche informazione, siamo sicuri che molti di voi condividono la nostra modalità “Non stiamo più nella pelle, quando arriva il 01 aprile? Perché manca così tanto tempo?”

•  La Conferenza si terrà sabato 02 aprile dalle 09:30 alle 18:30 presso Toolbox Coworking. Ci saranno due tracce, una tecnica, per sviluppatori di diverso livello, una dedicata a contenuti e business.
• Siamo intenzionati a fare almeno il 30% dei talk in inglese: riteniamo che sia giusto per coinvolgere WordPress lovers che non parlano italiano e per migliorare la consapevolezza di tutti coloro che lavorano nel web della necessità di conoscere l’inglese per accedere a un “cervello collettivo” internazionale.
• WordCamp avrà un costo simbolico di 20 euro a persona: è simbolico perché il costo effettivo a persona è più alto e la differenza è coperta dalle generose donazioni di sponsor globali e locali.
• Venerdì 01 aprile, dalle 10 alle 18, si terrà il Contributor Day, una giornata dedicata a chi vuole aiutare il progetto Open Source WordPress.org a crescere. Ci sono diverse aree nelle quali si può contribuire: approfondiremo con dettagli, ma intanto potete farvi un’idea di cosa si tratta leggendo del primo Contributor Day italiano, tenutosi a novembre 2015 a Milano. È a numero chiuso, si lavora tanto e bene a contatto con Team Leads che arriveranno da tutta Europa per aiutarci.
• Il Contributor Day è gratuito, anche qui ringraziamo fin da ora gli sponsor che ci aiuteranno a coprire i costi vivi di pranzo e merenda.
• A tutti, partecipanti, speaker, sponsor, volontari, organizzatori, viene chiesto di leggere e aderire in modo esplicito al nostro Codice di Condotta: è la condicio sine qua non per garantire un evento inclusivo, sicuro, piacevole per tutti.

Insomma, noi non vediamo l’ora anche di raccontarvi di più e di vedervi numerosi e volenterosi a Torino!

We were excited and motivated for WordCamp before going live, now we are at “We can’t hold ourselves, is it April 1st? Why it’s so far away still???”

In the coming weeks we will post :

• Call for sponsors – an event like WordCamp needs generous sponsors who can help us and share with us the values ​​of the Open Source community.
• Call for speakers – everyone can apply! As we mentioned in the Code of Conduct, the community is open to all and we will do our best to create a diverse group of speakers.

• About Turin – how to get here, where to sleep, what to do, what to eat. There is a reason why Turin is the only Italian city in Italy included in the list of “50 places to visit in 2016” published by the New York Times  🙂

Meanwhile, here are some information, we are sure that many of you share our mood of  “We can’t hold ourselves, is it April 1st? Why it’s so far away still???”

• The Conference will be held Saturday, April 2 from 09:30 to 18:30 at Toolbox Coworking. There will be two tracks, one more technical, for developers of different levels, one dedicated to content and business.
• We aim to have at least 30% of the talks in English: we believe it’s the right way to engage WordPress lovers who do not speak Italian and to improve the awareness of all those working in Italy of the need to know English to access an international “collective brain”.
• Tickets will sell for 20 euro. The price is almost symbolic: the actual cost per person is higher and the difference is covered by the generous donations of sponsors global and local.
• Friday, April 1, from 10 to 18, we will have a Contributor Day, a day dedicated to those who want to help grow WordPress.org, the open source project. There are several areas where you can help: deepen details, but in the meantime you can get an idea of ​​what it is reading the first Italian Contributor Day, held in November 2015 in Milan. We have limited sposts available and we will work together with Team Leads coming from all over Europe to help us.
• The Contributor Day is free, again thank you in advance to the sponsors that will help us cover the living costs of lunch and snack!
